This summer the boat got a few upgrades. As I mentioned in the previous post, the solar charge controller went bad over the winter. Not sure why, but it was a cheap one. I ended up upgrading to a Renology 30A one instead. This one appears to be very well made and the display is more intuitive to show the battery state. I hope it lasts much longer.

Second upgrade was replacing the old leaky galley faucet that came with the boat. This was an upgrade I delayed from last year as the prices for those seemed higher than they should be. To add to it, the only thing that was wrong with the old one was the leather seal which was leaking, but after searching all over the place I could not find a replacement. I finally ended up ordering a shiny new Valterra pump and putting it in – it installed super easy with the two screws provided, though the holes did not line up with the old pump. I also ordered a set of two gallon bladders which have a spout that’s the same size as the hose that connected to the pump, which will give me a total of four gallons of water to use at any time.
